CLEANING

Teeth cleaning is part of oral hygiene and involves the removal of dental plaque from teeth with the intention of preventing cavities (dental caries), gingivitis, and periodontal disease.

Teeth cleanings are essential not just for clean teeth, but a healthy mind and body as well. Professional teeth cleaning by a certified dental hygienist aims to remove plaque, tarter and stains that have accumulated on the teeth.

Cosmetic Dentistry

At Home of the Perfect Smile, we are not only concerned about your overall dental health, but also about the aesthetics of your smile. Having a healthy, bright, beautiful smile enhances your appearance and allows you to smile with confidence.

A beautiful smile has everything to do with how we feel about ourselves and how others perceive us. In our Shaker Heights office, we offer procedures that can enhance your smile, such as orthodontics, teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, implants, bonding, fillings, and crowns. If you are unhappy with your smile, our Shaker Heights dental experts are ready to help.

ORTHODONTICS (COSMETIC DENTISTRY)

Are you looking for an alternative to traditional braces to straighten your smile? The Invisalign system uses a series of clear plastic aligners to straighten your teeth comfortably and conveniently. Because the aligners are basically undetectable when worn, they’ll be your little secret. No one has to know you are straightening your smile! Whether your teeth are crowded, crooked, spaced incorrectly, or you suffer from an incorrect bite due to the positioning of your teeth, Invisalign helps you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted.

Recent years have brought about many changes within the dental industry, specifically with regards to orthodontic treatment and care. Whether it’s traditional braces or custom made removable appliances, orthodontics can help you have the healthy, straight, beautiful smile you’ve been waiting for!

Healthy teeth can be moved at any age, so there’s no such thing as “too old” for braces. In fact, nowadays about one out of every five orthodontic patients is an adult. If a better smile is something you really want, call us to schedule a consultation to discuss your treatment options. As the saying goes, you’re only as old as you feel!

TEETH WHITENING (COSMETIC DENTISTRY)

The dental experts at Home of the Perfect Smile provide the residents of Shaker Heights and surrounding areas with teeth whitening services to help them achieve their perfect smile.

Aging, medications, coffee, tea and even some foods can contribute to tooth discoloration or yellowing. With in-office whitening we can whiten your teeth in one convenient session. Once your teeth are properly treated to remove stains, they will be whiter, brighter, and appear younger.

Teeth whitening is one of the most sought after and low-cost ways to enhance a smile. At Home of the Perfect Smile, we offer both in-office fast whitening treatment and take-home kits. Your perfect smile awaits.

CROWNS, BRIDGES, PARTIALS, DENTURES (COSMETIC DENTISTRY)

Unlike removable devices such as dentures, which you can take out and clean daily, crowns and bridges are cemented onto existing teeth or implants, and can only be removed by a dentist. How do crowns work? A crown is used to entirely cover or “cap” a damaged tooth.

 Crowns

A crown is a tooth-shaped cap that is placed over a tooth. It is used to strengthen and protect your tooth structure. A crown is ideal for people with broken teeth or cavities. We provide metal-free all white crowns known for their outstanding ability to mimic the look of natural teeth, for a better cosmetic look.

 Bridges

If a tooth is missing, not only is it harder to chew properly and eat, but the gap can cause dental problems as the remaining teeth shift, and places for bacteria and disease develop. We provide dental bridges that can repair the conditions of a missing tooth.  A dental bridge covers or “bridges” the gap between missing teeth.  After you lose a tooth, your dentist may suggest that you get a bridge. A bridge can keep your other teeth from moving out of place.

Once a bridge is placed, it works just like your own natural teeth.

 Partials

Removable partials can create a natural and healthy looking set of teeth as well as enhance your smile and sense of self-esteem. Removable partials usually consist of replacement teeth attached to gum-colored plastic bases. We provide light weight, flexible partials that are non-metal to provide a more natural look.

Valplast is an advanced solution that is used for the replacement of missing teeth. Not only is Valplast virtually impossible to detect, which means that no one will be able to tell that you are wearing dentures, but they are comfortable and stronger than typical partial dentures. When it comes to tooth replacement, the flexible particles that make up Valplast are a beautiful and affordable choice. In addition to flexibility, Valplast is strong and light weight, which provides patients with a comfortable and great looking tooth replacement.

 Dentures

We provide complete upper and lower dentures.  Using state-of-the-art technology, our patients are in control of their view and can choose from several smile styles: hollywood, youthful, masculine, feminine.

Dentures are worn down by eating and cleaning; therefore, a denture should be reviewed by your dentist every year to check for wear, fit or any adjustments that may be needed. Even if your denture feels fine, you must have your mouth checked annually to ensure against any permanent damage and to check for any mouth infections or other conditions.

Dentures should always be replaced or relined if they become loose.

EXTRACTIONS

Although permanent teeth were meant to last a lifetime, there are a number of reasons why tooth extraction may be needed: a crowded mouth, infection, risk of infection, or badly damaged teeth.

Gum disease can loosen or severely damage a tooth. A tooth that is severely damaged may need to be removed.

Remember, when having an extraction, today’s modern procedures and follow up care (as recommended by your dentist) are there for your benefit and comfort.

The use of sedatives is used for managing anxiety regarding dental treatment. Our office utilizes anxiolysis, the lightest level of sedation, which is safe and effective.

Feeling uneasy about your extraction? Speak with us, we’re able to answer all your questions and put you at ease. Your perfect smile is our top priority. That’s why we’re Home of The Perfect Smile!

FILLINGS

To treat a cavity, your dentist will remove the decayed portion of the tooth and then “fill” the area on the tooth where the decayed material once was.

Fillings are also used to repair cracked or broken teeth and teeth that have been worn down from misuse (such as from nail-biting or tooth grinding).

Fillings made with amalgam also are known as silver fillings. Over the years, concerns have been raised about the use of amalgam because it contains mercury. Our office only provides state-of-the-art white fillings. Because white fillings mimic the appearance of natural teeth, you can smile and laugh confidently without the worry of anyone focusing on your fillings instead of your beautiful smile.

TMJ

We also treat TMJ, or temporomandibular joint disorder, which means that the hinge connecting the upper and lower jaw doesn’t work properly.
Signs and symptoms of TMJ include:
• pain in the jaw joint
• jaw clicking and popping
• ear pain
• popping sounds in ears
• headaches
• stiff or sore jaw muscles
• pain in the temple area
• locking of the jaw joint

SLEEP APNEA

Our office treats sleep apnea patients.

Sleep apnea is a potentially serious sleep disorder in which breathing repeatedly stops and starts. You may have sleep apnea if you snore loudly, and you feel tired even after a full night’s sleep.
